The Midland Fairgrounds covers 118 acres. It has over 102,000 square feet of indoor exhibition space. The grounds are known to have the premier horse facility in Michigan. It has eleven miles of paved roads that traverse the grounds and a 3,794 seat grandstand with a one-half mile oval race track. Under the directorship of manager Tom Valliere and the Fairboard the grounds and facilities have steadily improved over the last 30 years. In addition to the fair a multitude of events are held on the grounds throughout the year. The fairgrounds draw to their facilities and the Midland community approximately 380,000 people each year.
